What is the difference between the USA and France in terms of geography?

The area of France

The area of the US

America is the second largest continent in the world after Asia, with a total area of approximately 42.5 million km².  It extends from north to south over a distance of more than 14,000 km and from west to east over a distance of about 17,000 km.  The United States is subdivided into three major geographic regions: North America, Central America and South America.  North America is the third largest geographical region after Asia and Africa, with an area of approximately 23.31 million km².  It includes Canada, the United States, Mexico and the islands of the Caribbean Sea
As for Central America, it is a geographical region located between southern Mexico and northern Colombia, with a total area of approximately 523,000 km².  It is made up of seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.  South America, as far as it is concerned, is the fourth largest geographical region after Asia, Africa and North America, with an area of approximately 17.84 million km².  It includes 12 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The difference between the USA and France

You would have noticed, America is much bigger than France.  Indeed, America usually refers to the American continent, which is made up of North America, Central America, and South America.  France, on the other hand, is a country located in Western Europe.  In terms of area, America is much larger than France.  However, if you refer to the United States of America, they are also larger than France.
